Open Question: What do you think of the following list of misstatements from Rep. Lindsey Graham on "Meet the Press" today?

    1) "The stimulus failed because it did not keep unemployment at 8%." Msg me if you didn't get caught up on this lie. 2) "The stimulus was 'a disaster'". According to many sources such as the CBO, private economists, said it saved 2-3 million jobs. 3) "Estate tax is going to devastate small business". That's even on polifact as a lie. 4) "Not one candidate on the campaign trail is talking about health care". Really? Do I really have to Google this? 5) "Health care bill will make a government monopoly in health care". The bill does not have the government offering a single health care product or service. 5b) "Health care bill grows the government and cuts out the private sector". The health care bill simply regulates non-employer programs much like employer programs, and includes a subsidy and mandate. 6) "Obama governed from the left ditch". Hey, I'm in the left ditch with Chomsky, and believe me, there's no Obama here. 7) Avoided question on what he would cut to balanced the tax cuts while criticizing the president's deficits. The idea that cutting spending and taxes will help with the recession is not a lie, it is just stupid. What is a lie is saying you can do a spending freeze to lower the deficit without cutting defense. The deficit should not be considered a function of dedicated spending programs like Social Security, Medicare and the highway fund. If you cut those benefits, then you cut those taxes with no net effect on the deficit. 8) The Dems rejected a stimulus 'approach' that cut taxes, helped the unemployed and did infrastructure projects'. 10)1/3rd of the stimulus was a tax cut.

Open Question: Did Vancouver Canada's 2010 olympics make a profit or loss?

All the media hype pre-2010 Olympics in Vancouver and the uprising costs breaking budget after budget (do contracts mean nothing any more?) and the feds refusing to give more to the province who then cut services trying to find the money. Then post-Olympics the talk is about real estate and small business and their losses or gains. What about the taxpayer and their sacrifices? Can we have those cut-backs put back? Why are schools closing when they're full of kids? I want to know, once it was over, what happened about the income-outgoing profit and losses? How much do we owe? Anyone know?
